2009 Main Event Betting Market Review

If like me you will be sat at home brooding about missed satellite opportunities and looking after the kids whilst the poker world fixes its gaze on the Amazon rooms for the next twelve days, then consider providing yourself with a little bit of the action by placing a bet on the outcome.
Be quick though most markets will close at 5pm this evening (Fri 3) as the action in Vegas gets underway.
The actual chance of picking the winner is somewhat needle + haystack, so the bookmakers in there infinite wisdom have provided some other more interesting markets for us to play. I’m quite interested in Paddy Powers last year’s final table last longer market with online pro Ylon Schwartz being my pick as he knows what it takes to pick apart these big field events;
Ivan Demidov 5/1
Chino Reem 5/1
Craig Marquais 6/1
Dennis Philips 8/1
Kelly Kim 8/1
Ylon Schwartz 8/1
Scott Montgomery 8/1
Darus Suharto 8/1
Paddy Power are also running an age of the final table winner market, with so many of the field being young online qualifiers I like the 4-1 and 9/2 on offer for the lowest age ranges.
31-35 7/2
26-30 4/1
36-40 4/1
21-25 9/2
51+ 5/1
41-45 11/2
46-50 13/2
If you enjoy watching out for the big names then The Paddy Power Full Tilt pro last longer might be the market for you. Mike Matsusow looks over priced at 8/1 considering he has such a great track record for deep runs in the larger field main events that are now standard.
Allen Cunningham 8/1
Patrik Antonious 9/1
Chris Ferguson 10/1
Phil Ivey 8/1
Mike Matusow 9/1
Phil Gordon 10/1
Erick Lindgren 9/1
Andy Bloch 10/1
Howard Lederer 10/1
Gus Hansen 9/1
Erik Seidel 10/1
Jennifer Harman 10/1
John Juanda 9/1
Ladbrokes are offering a market on the top European with Elky unsurprisingly leading the field. Personally I’m going to be having a piece of Dario Minieri and Marcel Luske both at 33/1 as both have experience of deep main event runs.
Bertrand ” Elky ” Grospellier 16/1
Carlos Mortensen 16/1
Patrik Antonius 16/1
Florian Langmann 20/1
Gus Hansen 20/1
Johnny Lodden 20/1
Peter Eastgate 20/1
Bruno Fitoussi 25/1
Juha Helppi 25/1
Max Pescatori 25/1
Michael Tureniec 25/1
Sebastian Ruthenberg 25/1
Andreas Hoivold 33/1
Andreas Krause 33/1
Anthony Lellouche 33/1
Benjamin Spindler 33/1
Bo Sehlstedt 33/1
Chris Bjorin 33/1
Christer Johannson 33/1
Dag Mikkelsen 33/1
Dario Minieri 33/1
David Benyamine 33/1
Erik Friberg 33/1
Ilari Sahamies 33/1
Jan Sjavik 33/1
