2009 UKPI Trophy goes to Lewis Morton.
Lewis ( young blood) Morton last night lifted the UKPI Charity Trophy at the Grosvenor Casino in Stoke On Trent.
Fresh from his top 3 finish in the DTD £300 event last month , Lewis came back to the Grosvenor to take part in the Charity game that saw £300 raised in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.
It was a bit disappointing to see a field of 31 players taking their seats as there were more expected, Bunny had worked like a trojan to get the game to go ahead and organised some terrific prizes for the raffle.
There was a party feel to the game that went on until approx 2am, where lewis played a strong final table taking out the one time chip leader Dave ( the bear ) Palin, ( Mad ) Mark Jones, Graham Laxand finally the guy who made a valiant effort but just got pipped at the post Mark ( The Rage ) Brassington.
Rage played on my table for most of the night and was a pain to play against, eventually falling just short in lifting the runners up trophy, he played a really confident game and deserved his position.

A good night of poker, and much needed funds into the coffers of the magnificent Air Ambulance. I must also mention that a few of the players even came over from Wrexham to take part in the event including Sion, Debbie Cain and husband Mick, and although the support wasnt tremendous, the game and atmosphere was.
Finally a huge thank you to Bunny for all his efforts, to the Grosvenor Management for allowing us once again into their venue for the tournament, TD Matt Murray , and all the valets and staff for all their efforts
