Caesars Cup Line Up Nears Completion
The Caesars cup is a new event modelled on the Ryder cup as a Europe V’s The America’s team event and is scheduled to take place at the Empire Casino Leicester Square starting on September 25th.
The two team captains are Annette Obrestad for Europe and Daniel Negreanu for the America’s. The made for TV event will be screened by ESPN as part of there WSOPE coverage and will see a series of heads-up matches and two-man double matches with an overall point rating for all matches deciding the winning team. The two man double matches will involve one player playing pre-flop and the other playing the flop, which could see some interesting conversations when you have to play 7-2 on a AKQ flop with half you stack in the middle!
The European team will also include an online qualifier from Betfair who are the WSOPE sponsors, this clearly devalues the event somewhat, imagine the European team losing when there qualifier has to play Ivey for the match and he gets hammerd.
