Coral British Masters Poker Tour
Today sees the start of the Coral British Masters Poker Tour, up north in Stockton-on-Tees. Although it is competing with 2 other festivals (The Face to Face in Brighton, and the London Poker Circuit) the event is expected to sell out as there are only 110 seats to fill.
Two legs of this series have already been played at the Gala Maybury (Edinburgh) and Gala Leeds, making this the 3rd leg at Gala Teeside, the tour will then continue to Gala Nottingham, Gala Liverpool (Leo’s) and concluding at the Gala Harbourside (Bristol). The winner of each main event, the highest earner (excluding individual ME winners) and an online qualifier (from either Coralpoker.co.uk, galapoker.co.uk, and eurobetpoker.co.uk), will play off for a £10,000 sponsorship package for 2010. Meaning only 8 players will play for the biscuit.
This Tour replaces the excellent Great British Poker Tour, which was held by Gala, and when it was announced that this tour was to stop, there was uproar on the forums. So this was the answer, although it doesn’t have the same community feel about this tour for some reason?
A small gripe of mine, is that for a main event to omit both the 75/150 level, and the 150/300 level is unforgiveable. Although it’s each to their own I suppose, some players may like the steepness ……. I digress 
Friday Event
£200 NL Holdem Start 6pm. One day event:- 30 minute levels throughout. 7,500 in chips. Alternates accepted for first 2 levels.Saturday Event
£500 NL Holdem. Start 3pm. Two day event. 60 minute levels throughout. 10,000 in chips. Alternates accepted for first 2 levels.Sunday Event
£100 NL Holdem. Start 5pm. One day event. 30 minute levels throughout. 7,500 in chips. Alternates accepted for first 2 levels.
