Coventry GUKPT
The newly acquired Grosvenor (that was bought for a bargain price of £650,000 from the American/Italian owned Blue Chip Group), has been desperate to hold a GUKPT since being purchased. Formerly known as The Isle of Capri at the Ricoh Stadium in Coventry, now known as Grosvenor’s newer brand, the “G” , was set to be the flagship Grosvenor next year. It seems they didn’t want to wait that long as a new Summer Series GUKPT event has been squeezed in at the end of August.
It seems an interesting time to squeeze this baby in, as one day after this one finishes Cardiff GUKPT starts? Traditionally the UK poker circuit kicks off mid August, and this year is no exception. The curious timing of this additional event means it will clash with two other significant festivals. Paradise Poker are launching their series of poker at the International in London. Details here.
At the same time Dusk Till Dawn will be hosting the APAT’s World Championship of Amateur Poker (which has already sold out in every event) Details here.
However, as a new, very lavish casino with an exceptional (previously misused) cardroom, in the centre of the country and the biggest UK poker tour behind it, this will be one not to miss!
Coventry G’s Festival Schedule
Thursday 27th August – £200 NL Hold’em Freezeout – 7.45pm – 2 day event
Friday 28th August – £150 NL Hold’em Freeezeout – 7.45pm – 1 day event
Saturday 29th August – £300 NL Hold’em Main Event – 4pm start – 2 day event
Sunday 30th August – £100 NL Hold’em Bounty Freezeout – 4pm – 1 day eventThe winners of all events will claim seats into the £100,000 GUKPT Champion of Champions tournament and GUKPT ranking points will be awarded in all tournaments.
