Live Omaha?
It amazes me how Omaha is not very popular live, for those that know me I make no bones that hold’em bores the living daylights out of me. In every casino that I have worked at there has always been pressure to add an Omaha competition, and I have added them due to demand, but they never seem to get the numbers? Even the big tours used to sneak an omaha comp in somewhere to break the monotony of hold’em. It seemed the natural successor to hold’em as people progressed in their poker playing ability, especially seeing how popular it was getting on the internet.
Round of each games were designed to get hold’em players to have a taster at Omaha (hopefully leading them to an omaha cash game). Yet again the figures for these type of comps are always on the low side. It is bizarre that every round of each cash game inevitably leads to all players at some stage asking to make it Omaha only.
When DTD announced an Omaha and a round of each comp on their weekly schedule I was hopeful that if any cardroom can break the Omaha boundary then DTD would be the place it would work ……. Alas no, after 5 weeks of poor numbers since its inception DTD are now re jigging their weekly schedule yet again. It now looks as follows;
