Located on Portland Road, right in the heart of Manchester, UKPI has paid a visit to the casino, and first impressions are WOW…
On arrival, Valet parking is available and as soon as you enter the gaming floor you cant fail to be impressed.
The cardroom is situated above the main floor and has capacity for 100 runners.
The competition that is being played tonight is the £20 rebuy, with £5000 added with 50 entries, and although tonight it will perhaps struggle to make these numbers, the enthusiasm shown by cardroom manager Martin Lowe to get this event on the map is truly outstanding.
After talking to Martin, it is evident that he is determined to make this cardroom a sucesss by offering alternatives to what is currently available to the poker players of Manchester.
The current cardroom schedule is :-
Tuesday 9pm: £20 + £2 Reg Rebuy
Wednesday 9pm: £30 + £5 +£3 Reg Headhunter Freezeout; Dealers provided
Thursday 9pm: £40 + £4 Reg Deepstack with optional £20 add-on
Friday/Saturday 10pm: Cash Games; dealers provided;50p/£1 blinds, £20 min sit down, £200 max sitdown.
Sunday 3pm: £10 + £1 reg Rebuy
Sunday 9pm: £30 + £3 Double Chance Freezeout.
After consultation with local players , they are of the opinion that a £30 freezeout with £500 added to the prizepool, that this would be well supported by locals and may attract players from further afield. It is highly likely that this will take place in October.

Local stalwart, 71 year old Mrs Dot Smith, (the cardroom bully) is excited at the prospect of more runners and added value to competions in the cardroom.

My favourite card room in the UK, has a cracking atmosphere and the balcony cardroom is a great touch. Looking forward to playing there again sometime.
