Moon V’s Cada for the Title

wsop-ukpiDarvin Moon and Joseph Cada will face off on Tuesday night for the right to call themselves the 2009 World Champion of poker. After more than 16 hours of play that saw Moon dropping of periodically at the table, it was Cada who dealt the final blow when he riverd a king holding big slick against Antoine Saouts pocket 8’s with the Frenchman all in. This followed on from a few hands earlier when Cada gave Saout a sickening beat, on this occasion it was Cada who found himself all in for his life with Saouts pocket queens way ahead of Cada’s two’s, until of course a fateful two hit the flop.

Cada seems to have had the run of cards having also been all in against Shulman earlier with 33 V’s JJ and he flopped a 3 there as well. Moon can also count himself lucky having knocked out both Ivey and Begleiter from behind he then got involved in a number of battles with Eric Buchman who seemed to be playing the strongest of all the final remaining five until he decimated his stack with AQ and shortly after lost a big pot when he moved 20 million in with A5 to be called by Moon’s KJ of diamonds. A strange call but to be fair to Darvin he seemed to just want to get it over with at this point as the decision by the WSOP committee to play till we where heads-up resulted in the logger from Maryland seemingly almost catatonic at the table.

Cada will start the Heads-up battle with 135,950,000 to Moon’s 58,850,000 and will be a big favourite.
