Thanks for pointing that out Bunny. I could see there is something slightly wrong about having 50k stashed away and still be claiming benefits. I was bored and just felt like having a rant.

What a fucking cheek! How many punters actually make money at poker, or, any other form of gambling for that fucking matter.
Are all the people who lost fucking thousands of their hard earned and heavily taxed income going to be able to send their gambling records to the inland revenue to claim their fucking tax back?
No. I didn’t fucking think so!!

The issue regarding his benefit entitlement wont be the “income” he earned from playing the game, its issue will of been the undeclared savings as any amount of savings exceeding £6000 will have an effect on your entitlement to various benefits. In fact savings exceeding £16000 will result in your entitlement to any Housing or Council Tax Benefit ending as this the the threshold level.
When his savings exceeded the £6000 and he failed to notify them he has automatically comitted benefit fraud and rendered himself liable to prosecution.

Well they have a legal dilema here don’t they, on one hand they refuse to accept that its a game of skill so you can’t be a proffesional at the game of chance can you, yet on the other hand people are proving just that by earning aliving at it. mind you his a bit of a cheeky bugger by the sounds of it,
