Poker This Weekend 4-7th Sept

gukptA very disappointing turnout at Cardiff for the GUKPT, only 49 players turned up for day 1a and 71 for day 1b making the total prizepool for this event £120,000. Previously the lowest turnout for the GUKPT was in Newcastle. The reason for this could be numerous as there are quite a few nice tournaments this weekend.

The International Cardroom (previously the Gutshot) is hosting the Paradisepoker Series of Poker main event on Saturday £1k entry £10,000 added value.

Stoke Circus is holding their monthly £100 comp with £1500 added (live updates will be on ukpokerlife)

Dusk Till Dawn are holding their monthly Deepstack Weekend with £80,000 guaranteed for the £300 competition.

Some of the higher stakes players are in Barcelona for the European Poker Tour, or in Cyprus for the World Poker Tour.

September has to be a great strain on any Circuit player in the UK/World as it is also the month of the World Series of Poker Europe, London’s EPT and the English Poker Open to name a few of the comps this month!

Anyway back to the GUKPT chip counts for day 1a. Only 18 players return from day 1a.
