The Power of the Internet in Poker

grosveLast week we heard the disturbing news that the Grosvenor Casino in Stoke On Trent was to close its cardroom for 3 days per week.

Many of our members were outraged at how the Casino had not just let the standards slip, but also the cardroom.

Largely thanks to the members in this forum putting their views forward on how they felt with regard to this matter, the Grosvenor has decided to change some of their policies.

In a few weeks time there will be 3 dealers available in the cardroom – this doesnt sound much – but the general attendance at the moment is 20-30 for each comp so effectively there will be a dealer for each table.

They will still close the cardroom for the 3 days specified originally until they can see an increase in poker players/ attendances.

However, i have learned today that in September/ October time there will be a charity game being held there in aid of the Staffordshire Air Ambulance, a very worthy cause and one that needs all our support. I have spoken with the people involved , and we will also be bringing you a live feed direct and exclusive here on ukpokerinfo.

Finally a huge THANK YOU to all the people on ukpokerinfo for all the comments that will possibly help turn this around, and also to the general managers of the Grosvenor Casino for having the intelligence to listen and do something about it .

Just shows what people can achieve when they have a voice.

The dealers makes the comps a much more attractive proposition.
