UK Player Wins Baltic Festival

baltic-festival-headerThe majestic Swissotel, Tallinn in Estonia was the venue for PokerStars latest festival this weekend “The Baltic Festival”. You may ask why we would report this on a UK poker site, the reason is simple. Two friends from Devon came first and second in this €1000 Main Event. James Keys and Thomas Partridge travelled to the festival together and eventually ended up heads up with each other after defeating a majority of Scandies at their own aggressive game. The Devonshire James Keys actually freerolled into the event by winning a PokerStars last longer competition (the last person remaining wearing a PokerStars logo) in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Ironically as this was an inaugural Baltic Festival they continued the promotion, meaning that the person who won the “last longer” in this comp also won a seat to 2010’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. The Full Result as Follows;

1 Thomas Partridge UK €76,750
2 James Keys UK €48,505
3 Kenneth Danielsen Norway €30 085
4 Claus Bek Nielsen Denmark €17,805
5 Michael Fardan Denmark €14,121
6 Petri Heinanen Finland €11,665
7 Jerry Wong Netherlands €9,823
8 Johan Nilsson Sweden €8,288
9 Antti Kärkkäinen Finland €6,753

Thomas Partridge stated;

I haven’t played many live tournaments, apart from in Las Vegas, and that didn’t go very well. But our friend qualified and encouraged us to come along as well. The heads-up at the end went pretty quickly. I had a good run of cards and got the momentum going. I’m very pleased with the way it went. Now I’m going to try to improve my game before going to the Bahamas.

Congratulations Sir!
