World Series of Poker, British Players Represent

Now these are all the names and chip counts of the British people I can find, and before you say it I know there are some strange entrants, but this is just what has been reported.

This is some accomplishment by the way, there was in total 6,494 runners for this years WSOP, after all the day ones there are 4,399 players left. Of these there are 172 Brits left that is 4% of the field, not 10% that some websites are reporting, but still a remarkable figure, and best still, my horse is still in. UKPI’er, poonjoe, although getting up to 90k, finished  day 1D on 26k. This has already been the best year the British have ever had, let’s just hope that a couple end up on the final table in November!

The excitement doesn’t stop there lol, after disappointing fields on days a,b and c of which each day is supposedly capped at 3000, a reported 500 players were turned away from the main event on day 1D as it was full, twitter was full of well known poker names bitching about not being able to get in, including Patrik Antonius and TJ Cloutier. The strange thing is there were only 2,809 players playing day 1D, and registration has been open since March?

Oh well, good luck the Brits!!!!!!!!!!

[...] In an article I wrote about Brits at the WSOP, I mentioned that 500+ players were refused entry into day 1D of the Main Event, because it was full. I also mentioned Patrik Antonius was one of the players refused entry. Well for some strange reason I have to ammend that. http://www.ukpokerinfo.co.uk/wsop-brits-and-controversy-542/ [...]
